5-5 to 5-12

Final Exams are fast approaching…

What do think (likes and/ or dislikes) about the exam schedule?

Tuesday – 1st hour, 4th hour, 5th hour;  Wednesday – 2nd hour, 4th hour, 6th hour;  Thursday – 3rd hour, 4th hour, 7th hour

Also, what type of an exam format would you like to see for the Geometry exam?  (Multiple Choice, Short Answer, Fill in the Blank, Essay) – No exam is NOT a choice.

The exam schedule is alright for me because I have 3rd session skill center so I am at the GASC from the end of 3rd to the start of 7th hour. Im not sure how thursday will be for me though because i think ill prolly have to skip skenner that day.

The geometry exam has to be multiple choice. for sure.

I think the exam schedule is alright. I would like it a lot better if they werent on the last three days of school because the last week is suppose to be fun. I like the setup though how you go three hours of your first and then three hours of your fifth then your done with those hours. In a way it’s sad because i wish i had all my classes the last three days of school :]

    i love you Mrs Binkley

I like the exam schedule except for I think we should do exams on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I want to go to all my classes on Thursday so I can see my friends one more time before summer. I want the last day to hang out and sign yearbooks and stuff, but other than that I like it.

For the Geometry I want multiple choice like JOHN JAMES SPENCER said.

I would like to see a multiple choice exam just because of the simple fact that I, along with some other students, make stupid simple mistakes. I also hate how they set up the exam schedule because I don’t like sitting in a class for 3 hours at a time. I also think they could if they wanted to do something about it, someway, if they wanted to, but this is the easiest and laziest way for them to do it.

I pretty much love the exam schedule. The only thing that upsets me is that I don’t have any of my more enjoyable classes on the last day. That, however, has nothing to do with the set-up itself. It’s just how it worked out.

I agreee with Preston, I’d rather have multiple choice because everyone does make mistakes. And sometimes you’ll forget one area covered on the exam, and having multiple choice at least helps you because of the process of elimination. Plus it’s easier for teacher’s to check your answers and grade your exam. :]

I love the way that our exam schedule is i get to go home after the first three hour block on tuesday and wed. its sooo nice and on thursday i get an hour and a half lunch all excused so i think its great. and with the three hours i feel i have plenty of time to take my exam and not have to rush. And last i think that our exam should be multiple choice because it gives kids the confidence of knowing the answer is there and they dont have to think about if its wrong or not.

  • 7. Bradley Gear  |  May 8, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Reply to Johnny: Thursday we are excused and as far as i know we are excused on tuesday and wed. too if we do not need to make up hours. and i agree with the multiple choice idea. good reply though.

  • 8. Bradley Gear  |  May 8, 2008 at 8:05 pm

Reply to Mozy: I do not think that is the lazy mans way out its the easiest way to make all the teachers happy and not feel rushed and it works with all of the skill center you cant just think about yourself on this one you have to think of everyone as a whole but hey everyone is intitled to there opinion.

Reply to Jake the Snake: You have probably said it best having exams on Monday, Teusday and Wedensday is an amazing idea because thursday we should celebrate and see your friends one last time before summer, but that will never happen because the teachers are too lazy to say yeah let em off the hook they want to sit there during exams and have peace instead of fun…You Deffenatly said it best though nice post.

I think that the exam schedule is perfect. It works out for me because I don’t have high school classes all day. I think the exams should be a mix of questions, but primarily multiple-choice.

  • 11. Sarah Perry  |  May 11, 2008 at 9:43 pm

I agree with Chelsea on this one, I like how they are setup with one class for three hours, but I dont like having them on the last three days of school. I think that the exam should have multiple choice because we’ve learned a lot and it’s easoer to answer when you have options.

  • 12. Collin Schneider  |  May 11, 2008 at 9:56 pm

hmm the three days of exams don’t bother me.
but i really wish we didn’t have them on the last day of school.
because that should be a day that everybody gets to say goodbye to their friends and teachers. and having to take a test on the last day of school isn’t right. i would also like to have a multiple choice test for an exam because for people who don’t totally understand Geometry, would then have a better chance at getting the answer right then say he/she had nothing to go off of.

  • 13. josh corner  |  May 12, 2008 at 7:56 am

i think that the exam schedule is gay because it should not be the last days of the school year because it makes the last week really hard and long. I would like to see the format in multiple choice format.

  • 14. Aaron Pruitt  |  May 12, 2008 at 7:58 am

The exam schedule is gay because i hate doing exams and it makes the last week stupid and long. I want the math exam to be multiple choice.

  • 15. Billy Wells  |  May 12, 2008 at 7:59 am

I want the test to be multiple choice cuz i have a better chance of passing it. I do not like the exam week because we have no free time.

  • 16. Emily Woodall  |  May 12, 2008 at 2:37 pm

I think the exam schedulke is okay since i am a senior it is pretty easy for me

  • 17. Emily Woodall  |  May 12, 2008 at 2:39 pm

I think the exam schedule is pretty cool since i am a senior it is easy for me

  • 18. Emily Woodall  |  May 12, 2008 at 2:42 pm

    For johnathan spencer

I understand where you are coming from because i have third session to and the exam schedule works perfect for me

  • 19. Emily Woodall  |  May 12, 2008 at 2:43 pm

    reply to Bradley Gear,

I completely agree on the multiple choice thing. I believe that it just makes kids a little more confident on taking the test.

  • 20. Emily Woodall  |  May 12, 2008 at 2:45 pm

    reply sarah perry,
the reason we have them on on the last three days of school is for a reason and that is so we can learn everything then they quiz us to see how we have learned and done then we go threw all the hard testing then you get a vacation from it all.

  • 21. Aaron Decator  |  May 13, 2008 at 7:49 am

The exams are approaching fast indeed. I think the schedule is fine, as that is how we do the exams every semester.

For Geometry, I would like to do a scantron because they’re fairly easy and we don’t have to write out anything.

  • 22. Mariah Gorman  |  May 13, 2008 at 4:21 pm

Collin, I completely agree with you.
Exams should have been taken a few weeks BEFORE school gets out — that way we can have the last week to wind down from the year, and we can know our exam scores/final report cards by the time we get out of school.

Also, I think multiple choice will be the best method of testing. It will be easy for those who understand geometry, but likewise give those who struggled a 25% chance.

  • 23. Preston Mozy Mozingo  |  May 13, 2008 at 11:33 pm

I understand what Collin and Mariah are thinking, but what would the students do for an extra week or two if nothing mattered. No one would care and a lot more crap could happen around the school. I think we should just end it about 3 days after the exam.

  • 24. Preston Mozy Mozingo  |  May 13, 2008 at 11:38 pm

Reply to Brad: Reply to Mozy: I do agree that everyone IS entitled to their opinion, however I also think that if they were to spread exams over a week and a half people might do better because ,1, they had more time and ,2, it could also relieve a little bit of stress off the teachers instead of giving them 400 different exams all at once to grade.

I dont mind the final exam schedule. The only bad thing is when you have a subject, like art for example, where your in there for 3 hours, with practically nothing to do because the exam is easy and done so fast. It makes your day go by so muc slower to be done and have to just sit around in class forever. Then again its kind of nice to be able to realx and maybe study up for your exam in the next class. I personally like multiple choice questions because i get confused and blank out on tests so if i have the answers right there sometimes i can recall how to do something or what the answer would be because i can see it in front of me and i dont second guess my answer as much if i get something close to or on point with one of the choices offered.

  • 26. Tyler Gallaty  |  May 16, 2008 at 5:20 pm

I honestly dont care what the schedule is like. As long as we get them done and get out of here as soon as possible.

  • 27. Spencer Bailey  |  May 17, 2008 at 11:17 pm

I rather it be in the opposite order just so i could have Gym last but it doesn’t really matter
