I think that gradewise online is a good idea. It’s nice to know that you can go on parentweb and see your most up to date grade for each class. I personally don’t use it that often, but when I have used it before it was very helpful.

I think that having parent web is a good idea. I can check my grades whenever I feel like it. I just sometimes get frustrated when some teachers don’t update the grades. It doesn’t bother me that my parents can access my grades. I really don’t have anything to hide because I do well in school. I would have to say that I look on parent web at least three times a week. Gradewise online also helps so that I’m not constantly asking my teachers what my grades are. I can find them out for myself, and it’s really not hard at all. I think Bentley should continue parent web and gradewise online for the years to come. It is very helpful.

yeah so i love having parent web personally it gives me a chance to look at my up to date grades and get them up in time for reportcards! i probably check them like once a week, but my mom is not alowed on the computer so she never checks the parent web so i say parent web is an amazing thing and it should be used in all schools around the united states.

This is a flawed program. As a person with psycotic parents who watch my grades like hawks. I hear about a assignment that I might of missed(the same one) every day untill the grades are updated. Wich is usually a week. This shouldnt be used unless the exel program is directly connected with this and they are updated everyday. Which puts more stress on teachers.

I love the Gradewise program. It is nice to be able to know your grades without having to ask a teacher or wait until a report card. It is also very useful that you can see which assignments you are missing, so that you can do something about it. I use Gradewise about once every two weeks.

I believe that the grades online is great idea. This is because a lot of kids are failing cause they hide thier grades from thier parents and this is why a lot of kids don’t pass grades. With this parents can look at them and make sure thier kids are doing well in school. I know i check my grades all the time so………i know if i need to catch up or not.

I agree with you that it is kind of frustrating when teachers don’t update gardes. I also think that Bentley should continue parentweb and keep having grades available online for students and parents to look at.

You’re right. It’s so much easier to check your grades online than to ask all of your teachers and then wait until they can give them to you. Before parentweb, some teachers wouldn’t even have grades until very close to the time when repotcards came out; that wasn’t very effective at all.

I wonder if the number of students that are failing has gone down since parentweb? I think that it probably has. I wonder how many parents actually get on and check thier kid’s grades though

I like the fact that parentweb is available to students and their parents. Even though I dont get it on that often, it’s still nice to know that it is there. But I do like to use it to see how many tardies that I have or what’s my ranking. Like right now im top 5!

i think that it is good for us to look at our grades because sometimes the teacher cant tell us until later on so it is good if we can check it on the computer.
i usually look at my grades once a week to see if they are low

i think dats it a good idea cuz sometimes teachers don’t be always wantin to show us our grades all da time. so now we can just go on there and see them, so i like it. i only go on here wen i nerves bout my grade, so kind of often. But i also like it cuz we can see our missin assignments.

I totally agree with you. your right. a lot of kids do get introuble because of this website and most of the time its the teachers fault because they havent updated the grades right.

I think parentweb is one of the greatest things ever. I am constantly checking it to view my current grades at least twice a day. It gives students a chance to see what their current grade is, what they didn’t turn in, what they have to make up, their homework, and how much extra credit they need to do to bring their grade up. It’s also great to see when a teacher forgets to put a grade in the computer, you can go let them know and show them the graded paper. This has happened a few times to me already.

I love having Parent Web! It’s a real life saver over a long weekend and I’m stressing out about my grades.
UNLESS teachers don’t update the grades promptly, then I start to panic.
I’m the only one in the house that uses the computer, so my parents have never seen the site. I get Parent Web a few times a week.

I like the idea of gradewise. I check it sometimes and it lets me know what classes i need to work more on.

I think that grades online are something the children do not like. Parents probably feel more involved. I do not like it because my parents can get on at anytime and if one day I did poorly on a test and had a bad grade I’d be grounded, and the next day we did a packet and I highered it, my grounding would be pointless and I would be mad because I was really trying.
I never used the program before I came into high school. Now I use it all the time because I’m really struggling with my math classes. It’s nice to be able to look at every assignment with out having to ask the teacher. The only problem is sometimes the grade or the homework missing is not right because they havent updated it.
But over all I do not like the online gradeing system for the purpose of my parents.

    Response to Tyler Gallaty-

This is quite true. If the teachers don’t repost the grades and assignments we’ve turned in a few days ago and the parentals don’t believe us, we get the punishment, instead of the teachers, who are at fault. It should be directly linked with the grading programs on the teacher’s computers.

    My opinion-

Online grading is a double-edged sword. It’s good because it gives us a general idea as to how we are doing in the classroom when we need to know. But at the same time, it’s bad because some teachers don’t update theirs daily, some don’t really think it’s necessary, and some are just lazy. So, overall, If you NEED to know your grade, use the online system. If you want actual results, ask your teacher.

I think that gradewise is a great idea. Many kids probably don’t like it because they have bad grades. My mom checks it alot. I use it when I need to see my makeup assignment or missing work. I usually check my grade every couple of weeks.

  • 21. Jacob Flowers  |  May 4, 2008 at 5:03 pm

Gradewise is a good idea because helps the parents keep track on how there kids are doing in scool and it also helps keep our grades up, because we know classes we need to work harder in. I get on mine at least once a week so I can see if I am eligible for the upcoming week. It is good for me that my family doesn’t have a computer.

i dont really care i get good grades anyway
and i never use it and i dont think my mom does either soo

  • 23. Collin Schneider  |  May 4, 2008 at 9:28 pm

i really don’t have an opinion on the parent web. sometimes i think it’s a good idea, because you can find out what your grades are, but… there also not constantly updated. which could also be a bad thing

  • 24. Meghan Henick  |  May 4, 2008 at 9:51 pm

I think ParentWeb is a pretty good idea. However the lack of constant updates is a pretty big flaw. My parents never check my grades, but I’ll check them every few weeks.

I agree that Parent Web is very helpful. I also rarely check my grades online, but when I do I’m greatful for the program.

I really like having the Gradewise program online. My parents don’t know about it, but I use it all the time. I like to check my grades because i like to know if I’m slipping because this year I’ve been trying really hard to get my GPA up. peace

I agree that Parent Web isn’t really a big deal if you have good grades. That’s why my parents don’t check it, they know I get good grades.

I agree that Parent Web can also be really bad if your parents are very strict about your grades because it’s not updated often enough.

I agree that Parent web is helpful in the sense that you can go online to see what assignments you missed when you were absent or any other make-up work you may have.

  • 30. Sarah Perry  |  May 5, 2008 at 6:50 am

I think that it is good for your parents to be able to stay updated with their kid because if the student can’t keep their grades up on their own then they will know. But I hardly ever look at my grades online, and i’m pretty sure my parents don’t either.

  • 31. Kayla Harris  |  May 5, 2008 at 8:33 am

I like the fact that i can check my grades online to see how i am doing…..but i dont like the fact that my parents can….i think they should just wait until reprot cards come…….i use Parent Web like once every month…

  • 32. Preston "Mozy" Mozingo  |  May 7, 2008 at 9:06 pm

I also along with Tyler Gallaty think that this is a flawed system just because of the simple fact that they aren’t updated everyday. I know this puts a lot of stress on the teachers and I understand, however if you get a little behind and you miss a day then, without it being updated, your parents could check and you could get in a lot of trouble. I think that they should have a separate program for just the students.

  • 33. haley  |  May 15, 2008 at 11:24 pm

I think having the grades online through Gradewise is a good thing, if the teachers keep up with it. When a teacher doesnt keep up with it on a regular basis and a parent gets on and things are put in the computer but not graded it brings the students grade down, and some parents then think their kid is lying to them telling them they have like a B or something and the computer is showing a C or D because the teacher didnt put grades in yet. I like being able to check up on how im doing and what my assignments are if i miss them. I dont get on to regularly, but it is nice to know its there if i need it.
